But Unity is not just geared around gaming it is a very competent visualization application that breathe life into an project.

Licensing and Platforms

  • Windows Store Apps and Windows Phone 8 support and BlackBerry 10 support.
  • Now free: all "Basic" mobile licenses.
  • Now free: realtime shadows.
  • Now free: text-based serialization of materials, prefabs, scenes etc. for easier version control.
  • Now free: NavMesh baking.

Graphic Enhancements

  • Anti-aliased RenderTextures.
  • Image Effects:
    • Ambient Obscurance.
    • Bloom.
    • Blur.
    • Tilt Shift.
    • Camera Motion Blur.
    • Vignetting.
    • Edge detection.
  • GPU Skinning! (requires Unity Pro)
    • Completely automatic, no custom shaders needed.
    • Works on DirectX 11.

Currently we have seen that Unity is synonymous with Game Development but recently there has being a surge in using for ArchViz
