CheckUp

Our high speed news bulletin returns and brings you up-to-date on the latest SCF tidbits. News which deserves mentioning and for your convenience. The only thing you need if you haven't signed in for a month (shame on you!).

Spammers pruned

Recently we have deleted some 1300 spammer members from our database. Almost all of these members were registered using similar domain names and had never signed in after registration.
Although we think it's great to have many members, we don't want to create the illusion of being this monsterous sized forum where only 20% of the members are active.
Since these memberships have been pruned, we have introduced a stronger registration system to make it harder for spam bots to register. If necessary, in the future we will add new measures to ensure only genuine SketchUp enthusiasts register.
Futhermore, SCF is known too for its active spam moderating. Usually a spam post is removed within one or two hours, mostly sooner by our active Moderators.

5500 users

Right around this time we should have crossed the 5500 members. We are now officially a medium-sized community and we are continuing to grow at a steady pace, with over 30 new members every day.

50.000 posts

We've crossed the 50K threshold a few weeks ago and we're on for the 100K. When we do we want to throw a little party, but exactly how we're going to do this we don't know yet.

PM max messages bug fixed

Prior to the last update, there was a bug which prevented your PM Inbox to not expand beyond the 700 messages limit we had previously. Even though we had increased this to 2000 a few months ago, the amount did not rise. This bug has now been fixed. With a capacity of this size it is easier for people to retrieve old messages without the need to delete messages to save space.

SCF is most active SketchUp forum

Although we're a medium-sized community, the SCF is the most active SketchUp community in the world, with over 150 new posts ever day. This success is due to the strong feeling of community in our forums and because pro's and newbies alike are treated equally. The SCF does not put restrictions on new members like some other SketchUp forums do and its Moderators keep the place structured and clean.
Over the past months we have seen a significant increase of lurkers who registered before 2008 and which have now begun posting. This of course is very exciting news and we feel the atmosphere of the forums and its friendly inhabitants are to thank for that!
